Custom made. Price on request.
An Afghan bridal gown covered almost entirely in gold zardozi embroidery over an ivory ground, from the scoop neckline to the deep border at the floor-length hem. The bodice is fitted, the long sleeves finish in banded cuffs, and an embroidered waistband sits above a full flared skirt. A long matching veil with embroidered borders drapes over the head and falls past the hem into a train. Gown and veil are custom tailored to your measurements.
Every piece is made from scratch, so the details are yours to choose. Ask for any of these when you request a quote.
Every piece starts with a consultation at the studio in Officer, where we talk through the design, the fabric and your date. We take your measurements and cut to them, then fit the piece once or twice before it is finished.
Typical timeline: Four to eight weeks, depending on the embroidery, mirror work and trims. Bridal gowns need three months.
Bring the shoes and undergarments you will wear with it, so the length and fit are set correctly.
Made in the fabric you choose, for example a silk, a raw silk or a heavy satin-finish polyester. Zardozi and metallic embroidery are dry clean only, and the gown and veil are best stored flat or loosely folded in acid-free tissue.
