Abayas made to measure

Custom abayas in Officer, cut to your height and preferred sleeve and closure, in crepe, nida and silk, with hand finishing. Serving Melbourne's south east.

An abaya should move with you and sit perfectly at the hem without ever being stepped on. HMN makes abayas to your exact height and measurements in crepe, nida, chiffon-layered and silk fabrics, in open-front, closed, kimono-sleeve and butterfly styles.

We finish each piece by hand, so seams lie flat, closures sit straight and embellishment, if you want it, is placed with care. You can choose a plain classic cut, subtle embroidery at the cuff and hem, or a more detailed design for an occasion. Matching hijabs and shaylas can be made from the same fabric.

Clients from Officer, Dandenong, Cranbourne and across Melbourne's south east come to us for a fit that is hard to find off the rack, especially in longer or shorter lengths. Request a quote with your preferred style and we will confirm fabric options and timing.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked

Which fabrics do you recommend for everyday abayas?

Nida and good-quality crepe are the most comfortable for daily wear in Melbourne's climate and hold a clean drape. Silk and layered chiffon suit occasions.

Can you alter the length of an abaya I already own?

Yes. Hem adjustments, sleeve changes and closure repairs are quick jobs in the studio.

How long does a custom abaya take?

Usually two to three weeks. Embroidered or embellished designs take longer, which we confirm in the quote.

Do you make matching sets?

Yes. Hijabs, shaylas and inner slips can be made in the same fabric as your abaya.
