Perahan tunban made to measure

Perahan tunban stitched to your measurements in Officer, in cotton, linen and wool blends, with matching waistcoats for Eid, weddings and everyday wear.

The perahan tunban is the foundation of Afghan men's dress, and a well-cut one is comfortable enough for every day and sharp enough for Eid prayers or a wedding. HMN stitches perahan tunban to your measurements in cotton, linen, wool blends and soft suiting, with the collar, placket, cuff and length you prefer.

We take care with the chest and shoulder so the perahan hangs straight, and we cut the tunban with enough ease to sit and kneel comfortably while still looking neat. Matching waistcoats, chapan coats and children's sets can be made in the same cloth so a family arrives together.

Clients come to the studio from Dandenong, Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham and across Melbourne's south east, often with fabric from family overseas. Tell us the occasion and the date and we will quote the set and fit the stitching around it.

FAQ

Questions we are often asked

Can you stitch from fabric I already have?

Yes. Most perahan tunban orders start with the client's own cloth. We confirm the quantity at the consultation.

Do you make matching waistcoats?

Yes. Waistcoats and chapan-style coats in matching or contrasting cloth are a regular part of the order.

How long does a perahan tunban take?

One to two weeks for a standard set. Eid and wedding seasons book out early, so send your dates ahead.

Can you copy a set that fits me well?

Yes. Bring it in and we will match the measurements and improve anything you ask for.
