Deep red velvet gives this Kuchi dress its rich colour and soft depth. The chest carries a dense geometric embroidered panel in orange, pink, grey and gold diamonds below a notched neckline, edged with a row of bright tassels in orange, teal and red. The long sleeves and the hem are finished with embroidered bands and pale tassel fringe, and the skirt gathers from a high waist to the ankle. So the chest panel sits square and the skirt falls evenly, each dress is custom tailored to your measurements.

Every piece starts with a consultation at the studio in Officer, where we talk through the design, the fabric and your date. We take your measurements and cut to them, then fit the piece once or twice before it is finished.

Typical timeline: Four to eight weeks, depending on the embroidery, mirror work and trims. Bridal gowns need three months.

Bring the shoes and undergarments you will wear with it, so the length and fit are set correctly.

Fabric and care

Made in the fabric you choose, for example a silk velvet, a cotton velvet or a stretch velvet. Velvet with embroidery and tassels is dry clean only; avoid pressing the pile flat and steam lightly from the reverse if needed.
