An alteration done properly makes a favourite piece fit as it should, and that is the standard HMN works to. We hem trousers, jeans, skirts and dresses; take in and let out waists, seats, bodices and jackets; replace zips and linings; shorten sleeves from the cuff or the shoulder; and repair seams, pockets and buttonholes.
Bridal alterations are a specialty: hems, bustles, bodice reshaping, strap changes and sleeve additions, scheduled with enough time between fittings for the dress to be right. Suit alterations are too: sleeves, jacket body, trouser waist and length, and shoulder work where it is worth doing. We will always tell you honestly whether an alteration is worth the cost.

How long do alterations take?
Most hems and simple adjustments are ready within a week. Bridal and suit work is scheduled around your date, with fittings as needed.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are best so there is time to pin and fit properly. Send a quote request and we will offer times.
What should I bring to a fitting?
The shoes and undergarments you will wear with the piece, so the length and fit are set correctly.
Do you quote before starting?
Yes. Every alteration is quoted once we have seen the garment, and the quote is fixed before any work begins.
