A maroon Pashtun frock that keeps the bodice plain and lets gold embroidery do the work, tracing the scoop neckline in a row of leaf points, banding the cuffs and finishing the hem in a deep border with a pointed upper edge. Long sleeves are straight, and the skirt gathers from a high waist and falls below the knee. A matching maroon shalwar with cuffed ankles completes the set, and both pieces are custom tailored to your measurements.

Made to measure

Every piece starts with a consultation at the studio in Officer, where we talk through the design, the fabric and your date. We take your measurements and cut to them, then fit the piece once or twice before it is finished.

Typical timeline: Four to eight weeks, depending on the embroidery, mirror work and trims. Bridal gowns need three months.

Bring the shoes and undergarments you will wear with it, so the length and fit are set correctly.

Fabric and care

Made in the fabric you choose, for example a cotton blend, a crepe or a lightweight wool. Cotton blends may be gently hand washed or dry cleaned, pressing the embroidery on the reverse; wool blends dry clean and press.
