Embroidered Afghan waistcoat

A men's traditional Afghan waistcoat in black, cut straight to the hip and worn open with no fastening at the front. A dense band of gold metallic embroidery frames the front edges and the hem, and faces the two pocket welts. It is worn over a perahan tunban for weddings and Eid, or over a plain black top for a quieter look. Every piece is custom tailored to your measurements.

Made to measure
Every piece starts with a consultation at the studio in Officer, where we talk through the design, the fabric and your date. We take your measurements and cut to them, then fit the piece once or twice before it is finished.
Typical timeline: Three to four weeks, including one fitting.
Bring the shoes and undergarments you will wear with it, so the length and fit are set correctly.

Fabric and care
Made in the fabric you choose, for example a wool suiting, a wool blend or a heavy cotton, with metallic embroidery. Embroidered pieces are dry clean only; store flat or on a padded hanger.
