A royal blue velvet Afghan dress with a tonal embossed floral pattern through the pile. A black panel edged in gold braid frames the bodice like a waistcoat, worked with mirrors and gold cording, with three round mirrors down the centre front below a round neckline. The skirt gathers from a raised waist and falls to the calf, and the long sleeves and the hem carry matching black and gold bands with mirror work and beaded fringe. It is custom tailored to your measurements.
Every piece is made from scratch, so the details are yours to choose. Ask for any of these when you request a quote.
Every piece starts with a consultation at the studio in Officer, where we talk through the design, the fabric and your date. We take your measurements and cut to them, then fit the piece once or twice before it is finished.
Typical timeline: Four to eight weeks, depending on the embroidery and trim work.
Bring the shoes and undergarments you will wear with it, so the length and fit are set correctly.
Made in the fabric you choose, for example a silk velvet, a cotton velvet or a stretch velvet. Velvet with mirror work and beaded trims is dry clean only, stored flat or loosely folded to protect the pile.
